Online chat or social network: what's the difference?

Chat is built around direct conversation. A social network adds profiles, shared posts and context for longer-lasting connections. Frenivo brings both together, but each serves a different purpose.

Use chat when you want a conversation

A message can be the simplest way to ask a question or continue a discussion without publishing a post. It works best when the other person is comfortable with contact.

A public mini-chat and a private conversation are not interchangeable. Something shared in a public space should not be treated as confidential.

Use a profile and posts to share context

Interests, posts and selected photos give people a way to express themselves. This context can make introductions easier and less random.

Comments and reactions take place in the audience defined for a post. Check visibility settings before sharing content that you would rather keep limited.

Move from a public topic to a private chat thoughtfully

An interesting discussion under a post may lead to a direct conversation if both people want it. A thoughtful follow-up is usually better than an unsolicited series of messages.

A public reply is not automatic permission for private contact. Respect messaging preferences, unanswered requests and personal boundaries.

Choose the format that fits your goal

A short question may suit chat, while discovering shared interests may be easier through profiles and posts. Both can support friendships over time.

Frenivo is an 18+ social platform that combines several ways to interact while letting people manage the audience for their shared content.
